What do you mean by a Just God?

by Valerie Gervais

He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. – Psalm 9:7-10

God is fair and impartial; He can and will judge; he would administer justice in accordance with his standards. God alone is the ultimate judge. And God knows your heart and examines your mind. So for those of us who are desperately waiting for justice, sooner or later, justice will be served even after death. In oppression and in times of trouble, bad things spoken against you, our Big Bro up there sees all. As what a comic speaker have shared this value in a funnier version: “They trouble you, God will trouble them.”

When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.- Proverbs 21:15

God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you. – 2 Thessalonians 1:6

The standard of god is His righteousness. This is the benchmark or standard for everything. God alone is the ultimate god. Knowing god as judge secures us. This is the “refuge” God has endowed us. Even if we are just humans in the eyes of the ultimate God, he let us pass the standard or the benchmark via “REDEMPTION”. He gives all the chances to repent. Because God is truly JUST. And it’s truly grateful to know this from the one up there.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. – John 3:16-17
